Traditionally made with seven spices, we've reimagined our shichimi togarashi with locally sourced ingredients from our homes in New Mexico and California, while remaining true to its Japanese roots. Combining the heat of chile, the bright citrusy note of orange and Sichuan pepper, the warmth and earthiness of ginger and sesame, with seaweed's salty brine, shichimi is a totally unique flavor profile that you'll crave once you try it.
Our red is made with red New Mexican chile and red Sichuan pepper, and is spicier with a more balanced traditional flavor. Our green is made with green New Mexican chile and green Sichuan pepper, and is milder with a stronger citrus note. Try both and choose your favorite!
Suggested uses: over rice, noodles, or soups; on salt-pickled cabbage or cucumbers; over yakitori or grilled beef; over roasted winter squash or grilled summer squash; on avocado toast; as the rim of a margarita or bloody mary.
