Many people want to eat more seafood, but knowing how to buy it and prepare it can seem daunting. We hope to demystify that process with this workshop, which will go through some of the most common skills needed for seafood preparation.
We’ll start with how to shuck an oyster, and everyone will take home their own Opinel oyster knife to keep practicing at home. Then we’ll go over all aspects of fish preparation, from what to look for at the fish market, to how to scale and clean a fish, and how to fillet. Finally, we’ll demonstrate both how to cook and serve a whole fish, as well as how to prepare a simple ceviche using fillets.
Everyone will get to enjoy the tastes of what we're preparing as we go through the workshop, as well as some light refreshments.
