Maria Schoettler is an artist and illustrator based in Oakland, California. She is best known for her “Eat Local” produce calendar, a month-by-month guide to seasonal eating, which she has been imagining and reimagining each year since 2008. That project opened the way for a whole array of illustrated goods—note cards, prints, tea towels, and more—all of them little tributes to the beauty of natural things and the pleasures of a life lived healthily and sustainably.
