It has been handcrafted using traditional Japanese joinery from hinoki, a cypress that grows abundantly in Japan and is prized for its wonderful pine fragrance and natural antimicrobial properties.
Umezawa has been making handcrafted products for bath and kitchen from responsibly harvested hinoki in Mie Prefecture since 1939.
