Handcrafted in a rustic clay body with a pale orange-pink crawling shino glaze with delicate crazing, this elegant chawan is perfect for sipping freshly whisked matcha and is also a beautiful objet for display. Comes wrapped in a persimmon-colored cloth and packaged in its original kiribako, a paulownia wood box tied with sanada himo cord, a woven cotton ribbon. The side of the box features handpainted calligraphy by the artist. Sourced in Kyoto on our recent trip this past October.
