Handcrafted in a dark clay body with a glossy multifaceted green tenmoku glaze with light accents, this elegant chawan is perfect for sipping freshly whisked matcha and is also a beautiful objet for display. Comes wrapped in a white cloth with ginkgo leaf motif and packaged in its original kiribako, a paulownia wood box tied with sanada himo cord, a woven cotton ribbon. The inside of the lid features handpainted calligraphy by the artist. Sourced in Kyoto on our recent trip this past October.
