No flaws, simply a dicontinued product.
Small bud vase made from clay collected in the Sierra Foothills and minimally processed in small batches. The glaze utilizes various rocks, clay, and wood ash to create a variable surface ranging from white to green/grey/blue, and from shiny to stone-like matte. They are made entirely by hand on a potters wheel, so variations in shape and surface will occur. Each one is totally unique.
From his background as a chef, Matt Fishman brings similar values of handcraft and locally sourced ingredients to his pottery practice. All of his work is created with wild clay and glazes that he forages from clay, stone, and plant ash locally in the Sierra Nevada and Bay Area. With the earthy, rustic feel of his ceramics, he seeks to create a unique record of the geology of Northern California.
