Made entirely by hand on a potters wheel, these small bowls are great for holding salt/spices, a scoop of ice cream, or trinkets. The clay is collected in the Sierra Nevada foothills and minimally processed in small batches. The glazes, likewise, are made from locally sourced stones, clays, and wood ash, and allow the local flavor to come through. Six available, each one totally unique.
From his background as a chef, Matt Fishman brings similar values of handcraft and locally sourced ingredients to his pottery practice. All of his work is created with wild clay and glazes that he forages from clay, stone, and plant ash locally in the Sierra Nevada and Bay Area. With the earthy, rustic feel of his ceramics, he seeks to create a unique record of the geology of Northern California.
