Small wheel-thrown bottles perfect as bud vases or for serving sake hot or cold. The bottles feature a soda fired glaze made from locally foraged clays, rocks, and wood ash with strong reduction, which creates unique colors and textures that are as beautiful as they are unpredictable. Made entirely by hand from clay and glaze ingredients foraged in Northern California, they make a one-of-a-kind gift.
From his background as a chef, Matt Fishman brings similar values of handcraft and locally sourced ingredients to his pottery practice. All of his work is created with wild clay and glazes that he forages from clay, stone, and plant ash locally in the Sierra Nevada and Bay Area. With the earthy, rustic feel of his ceramics, he seeks to create a unique record of the geology of Northern California.
