Designated as a national treasure, the Choju Giga are a series of illustrated scrolls dating back to some time between the 12th-13th century. The scrolls depict anthropomorphic animals going about their lives in the late Heian and early Kamakura periods. The playfulness of the scrolls inspired the three scents of Kousaido's Choju Giga Incense. Each box features an image from the scrolls and contains 90 pieces of incense.
